New Blog Header

As I explained in my previous post, I designed a new template and header for my blog.  And if you recall, I also predicted that it wouldn't be my last.

Well, today, only four days later, the prediction comes true.

Why the sudden change?

Yesterday, I noticed that my blog was no longer being picked up by Bing, Microsoft's new search engine.  And though I haven't checked yet, I suspect the same might be happening with Google.

I went to http://help.live.com/help.aspx?project=wl_webmasters&market=en-us&querytype=topic&query=wl_webmasters_trou_msnbotindexing.htm to see if I could figure out a reason for this, and read the following:  Don't put text you want indexed with images.  For example if you want your company name and address to be indexed, make sure it isn't displayed only inside an image of your company logo. 

As a result, I think the new image of the fantasy tree behind the title in my blog header was the culprit.  I have more research to do, but in the mean time, I've chosen a temporary TEXT ONLY header for my blog.
