Having Never Really Lived

by Herman Beun
When the 14th Dalai Lama was asked, "What about humanity suprises you the most?" he said:

"Man, because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.  Then he sacrifices his money to recuperate his health.  Then he is so anxious about the future that he doesn't enjoy the present.  As a result, he doesn't live in the present or the future.  He lives as if he's never going to die.  Then he dies having never really lived."

That's all I have to say for today, though I will write more about this subject in the future, since it so closely relates to the themes of my four novels.

In the mean time, keep this in mind this Christmas.  Enjoy each moment.  Savor the present.
