Book Review, or Book Talk?

My original intent was to post a Book Review every Friday.  However, after some research, I realized I wasn't writing Book Reviews, but instead Book Talks.

There's a difference, you see.

A Book Talk is simply a sharing to motivate someone to read a book.  It's informal and upbeat, and is not a book review, book report, or book analysis.

Examples of Book Talk blogs are:

• Novel Thoughts and Book Talk
• Book Talk

A Book Review, on the other hand, follows a standard procedure and includes such essentials as:

• book title, author, copyright date, ISBN
• author's purpose
• book's theme and thesis
• author's support of thesis
• evaluation of book for interest, accuracy, objectivity, etc.
• further information about the author
• summary, analysis, and comments on the book's content

Though I might be able to convince an occasional guest to post an honest-to- goodness Book Review on this blog in the future, to be on the safe side, I'm renaming Book Review Friday, Book Talk Friday.
