On Monday, I wrote a post, called Ho'opononopo/Ancient Huna Forgiveness, about a forgiveness mantra/prayer that helps align your mind and spirit so you can be the best you can be.
The prayer is so simple that at first I had a hard time believing it could accomplish anything.
But somehow and for some reason, it has the power to cleanse and heal whatever needs its energy.
My Thursday Two Questions to you are:
- What is your favorite practice to "set things right" in your life?
- Are you interested in the wisdom practices of other cultures, or are you more comfortable adhering to those of your own spiritual tradition?
If you would like to further participate in Thursday Two Questions, follow the link below:
Thanks for stopping by,

1. I first have to clear my mind specifically of any negative thoughts and I do that by getting out in nature. Only then can the positive influences seep through.
2. I love learning about different cultural and spiritual practices. By learning and understanding the differences I can form my own spiritual awareness.
Hi Poetic Shutterbug. Nature helps me clear my thoughts, too. I can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can continue my 3 mile walks. I agree, the spiritual practices of different cultures help me suppliment and enrich my own.
I love to read and learn about different cultures. I wrote my novel Enchanted Hunt for my sons about Hawaiian culture and the goddess Pele.
1.simply just by reading quotes for my daily devotions can already nurture my spirits.
2.I'm open to learn other practices from different cultures.
Hi Dorothy. And I bet you learned a lot in the process. Your book about Hawaiian culture and the goddes Pele sounds fascinating.
Hi Aliz. I also read quotes with my daily journal and love how they nuture my spirit.
1) I am not too much of a routine person. I do things at the moment. I have to keep up with the family schedule, so no time for me to sit and think about what I want to do.
But I guess I have been pretty lucky to have an SO that I can bounce things off with. And this is the best way for me to set things right- what ever it maybe.
2)I don't mind learning new ways and new cultural practices. However, I don't practice much now.
Thanks for linking up and joining TTQ this week.
Hello Self Sagacity. You are indeed lucky if you have a SO to bounce things off with and set things right. And yes, it is often hard to find the time to sit and think about what we do. I tend to have the greatest success with this when I'm in contact with nature, such as on a long walk.
I don't have a scheduled practice but nature has always been my favorite form of meditation. There was a time when I would go on solo backpacking trips with no other purpose than to enjoy the forest.
I have always been very open to new ideas and cultures. On occasion I have had the opportunity for first hand experiences. The more we learn about each others culture the better our world will be.
Always do the right thing..if I am really stress or something i read bible..
I always interested in others culture and beliefs..
have a nice day margaret!
Mine is up

1. When I realize I am not "centered" or balanced, I know I have lost awareness, sensitivity to all that surrounds my life...so I work on raising that awareness level again, and becoming refocused. Being centered is something that comes from deep within me, and affects my response to my world.
2. I have always been interested in other cultures and beliefs, and think that there is no one "right" way to believe, but a blend of beliefs that has come to me as I interacted and studied the world and people around me. Christianity set me on this path of understanding, being exposed to others has helped me to grow in my beliefs...
wonderful questions Margaret!
Prayer is my way to center myself. I pour myself out to the Lord and leave everything at His feet that's not within my power to change.
I don't know about all the religions of the world, but there are proverbs or good teachings that can be applied to your life regardless of your spiritual preferance. Anytime you look toward good moral principals to entwine in your heart which do not comprise your beliefs, then this will make you a wiser person.
Hi Squirrel Queen. Solo backpacking trips. Wow. What a great way to find your center. And I agree, the world would be a better place if we'd lern more about each other. We'd realize we're all one and that often strangers reflect back to us aspects of ourselves.
Hi sHeNgKaY. The Bible holds many riches. I used to open my Bible at random, and I was amazed at how it revealed just what I needed at the time.
Hi Cath. When you're centered, it's easier to appreciate the flow of life and be open to its messages, realizing what ever I pay attention to grows and whatever catches my attention holds a message.
I love how you say that Christianity set you on the path of understanding and exposure to others has helped you grow in your belief. Awesome.
Hi Cathy. I am only just learning to trust that God will take care of what I can't--to go with the flow. I have this wonderful book, called God's Breath, Sacred Scriptures of the World, which is a collection of the sacred texts of seven of the world's major wisdom traditions. It can help make one feel, as the author, Thomas Moore, says, "like a member of the world's religious community extending beyond the boundaries of tradtion and institution."
i reflect, meditate and pray. i talk to my mother, she keeps me grounded. i talk to my aunts, i listen.
learning about the customs and practices of other cultures is enriching. it opens my mind, broadens my universe.
1. Talk. I love to talk about what happened and hope that both parties or whoever is involved can be more understanding of the others views and forgive if there is something to forgive and we learn and grow.
2. It is good to learn about other cultures so that one doesn't become afraid of the unknown and by doing so we grow and our hearts become more understanding instead of arrogant.
Enjoy your weekend! :)
Hi Luna. Sounds like you've got many paths to your center and ways to broaden your universe covered. Having a mother and aunts to lean on and learn from is an extra bonus.
Hi Jamerican Spice. I love how you say that it's good to learn about other cultures so we don't become afraid and arrogant. I wish world leaders had more success in this department and could also be more understanding of others' views. In my own life, however, I've discovered that this is easier said than done.
Hi Margaret,
My favorite way to set things right is: I tell the truth, and if I am wrong, I admit it. I make it a practice to learn from my mistakes.
As for other cultures - bring them on. I love to learn more about anything spiritual, it is surprising what you can discover that will benefit you in your own life. bernadine
Hello Bernadine. Yes. Bring it on. I so agree. So much to learn to such benefit.
1) Quiet time seems to be the method for me to get things back into perspective.
2) I like to know other spiritual practices, but to adopt them into my life is another thing. It'll take a long time for me to change..
1) I'm working hard in this area, forgiveness, in my life by trying to see the goods in one particular person at the moment.
2) Being raised traditional Catholic, I tend to be set in stone, though I enjoy learning about other spiritual practices.
Hi Doan Legacy. I've read that it takes 21 days of continuous deep practice (or repitition)to lose an old habit or acquire a new one. During your quiet time is a good time to try something new. For instance, I'm trying not to complain for 21 days. If I mess up, I start all over again. 21 more days. When something bad happens, I say, "Thank you, God for this lesson." I know, this sounds crazy, but often what we conceive as something bad ultimatley leads to good.
Hello Icy BC. There's good in every person if we look hard enough, but I'm the first to tell you how hard it is to look past inflicted hurt and pain and see the person beyond. If we view everyone's actions (good and bad) as attempts to receive or express love, it makes the job easier.
