On Monday, I wrote a post called Guides/Guidance to the Hidden Dimension of Life where I talk about the dimension outside of the normal five senses where your earthly and spiritual lives overlap.
It's where artists find inspiration, where scientists find breakthroughs, where athletes find super-human strength, and where mystics find God.
It's also where an average person like you and me go for deeper understanding when the intellect can find none.
We are suspended between an outer world and the mystery of the inner world. And it pays to expand the size of this meeting point and the frequency of your visits there.
My Thursday Two Questions to you are:
- How do you access this hidden dimension of your life?
- Do you rely on forms of guidance such as intuition, synchronicity, dreams, prayer, or meditation?
Thanks for stopping by.

1. Fascinating. I do now and have always believed that dreams take us into not only our past lives but into the future and other dimensions. I also believe in that the same spirits travel together in time. I find that when I dream that many times there are characters in my dream that I know to be people close to me in this life. They do not look as they do on this earth but I know who they are in my dream which allows me to speculate that I knew them in a past life. I think through meditation we can find out more. Just the simple act of being "quiet" could take us there.
2. I do rely on dreams as I stated but even more so on intuition. My intuition never fails me. When I for whatever reason make a choice from my head rather than my heart, it inevitably is the wrong choice. Intuition is a knowing we all have.
Love your post.
Hi Poetic Shutterbug. I find more and more people are feeling as you and I do about following our heart more often. Somewhere inside, we know what to do when there are choices to be made, but we try to outguess--or outsmart--our intuition more often than not. Being "quiet" is one way to allow our inner voice to send us messages. Guidance comes at the most unexpected times, but it's there if we pay attention.
Margaret, I love the depth of your question. It is one I could ponder on forever. There is something within each of us; an inner light. Do we let it shine, hide the flame, or smother the flames? Sometimes I get a germ of an idea and it springs to life. I must know more on the topic, or I must make the creation. I am compelled. My husband calls it obsessed. I call it blessed. lol
Margaret, I cannot put a finger on it other than to say God gives each of us talents. A talent not used is lost. I feel that He leads and inspires. I truly lead on God for guidance, and communicate with Him daily. Without Him I would not be.
Hi Judy. I love it. Obsessed or blessed, which is it? Probably a bit of both. But why not, when you're blessed, it only makes sense to run with your God-given gift and share it with the world. God works through each one of us, but doesn't force us. That's where free will comes in and when we must decide: Do we use the talent He has given us or lose it?
I believe in my dreams and prayer is the best source I can have to make it possible.Along with prayer, I trust and pay attention to my intuition when I seek for guidance.
Hi Ladyinpurple. Sounds like you're on the right track. Trusting and paying attention puts you in the right mind-set for messages from The Universe. That's when, for me anyway, synchronistic things begin to happen and I feel I'm into the flow. Prayer is a wonderful way to tune in, too. For each individual, it will be different.
1) Prayer, meditation, dreams, reading, and wondering seem to bring on the hidden dimension of myself.
2) Yes, I do rely on prayer, meditation, and intuition for guidance!
Hi Icy BC. My number one meditation device is walking. By my third mile, I'm in a mental state that messages come to me. I keep index cards and a pencil in my fanny pack to write them down. Then, when I get home, I rush to the computer if the messge is related to my writing. Otherwise, I just listen and try to figure out how they apply to my life. Maybe that's what you mean by wondering. Quiet wondering, along with prayer makes a lot of sense.
1) i believe there's a "spring inside of us that never dry up". i find it by asking questions, seek for answers. by reading, listening, learning, reasoning, exploring, discovering, creating. to be with nature and by trusting my instincts.
2) i pray to talk to God, and meditate to listen to Him. i sometimes follow my intuitions, and don't ignore my dreams.
Hi Luna. We commune passively to The Universe daily. We really don't need to do much of anything. But are we using this divine extention to its fullest? Do we listen to and think about the guidance that comes our way with every decision we make? The Infinite Mind is at our disposal to helps us through times of confusion. You call it the "spring inside that never dries up." I like that. We are all seekers, to some extent. That's why we read and learn and reason and explore. Meditation and prayer are awesome ways to connect with The Source. Yes, and intuition and dreams. Thanks, Luna, for stopping by.
Finding that hidden dimension is often uncovered while doing other things, reading, listening to music, looking at photos, cleaning the house. It's like a locked door, which you don't have a key to opens mysteriously. Definitely much of my guidance comes through prayers and intuition. God speaks to us through many means. It's only a matter of me choosing to listen.
Hi Cathy. I like that. The Hidden Dimension is like a locked door, to which you don't have a key, that opens mysteriously. Except we do have the key. Meditation, prayer, intuition, etc. Sometimes we just misplace the key and have to remember when we last used it, so we can trace it back. And then, of course, once we've opened the door, we must listen or all is for nothing. Thanks for your take on this Cathy. Loved it.
I learned a long time ago to trust my inner voice or intuition for guidance. It is not something I have tried to nurture it seems to come naturally when I need it. When I am in a creative mood a hike or walk in the part usually ingnites the spark. But on the other hand I have a very active imagination.
Hi SquirrelQueen. Good for you. Getting in touch with a Hidden Dimension in life comes naturally to you. Spending time with nature and walking are also my way of getting into the zone. It's when I let go, and I'm always amazed at the good thoughts that come my way.
I used to go hiking when I need me time. Since that isn't always possible, I find a lot of peace within myself in my garden. In the cold winter months, I turn to watching a really dramatic movie. If I can't do any of that, then I have a glass of wine and go to sleep. Things are usually clearer in the mornings.
I don't pray as often as I should. I rely on my reasoning a lot and most of the time I beat myself about the same question until I figure it out through reasoning or research.
Great questions Margaret, I will have to come back and read your Monday post another time. glad you could join us today.
I rely on intuition and feeling a lot more than I give credit for. But then again I am at the start of my journey, it just feels like I am recently "awakened".
All the best
I know there are dimensions of me I wont get or understand unless I keep on living, as you learn more about yourself as you age and it might be things you like or dislike but it all depends on what you do with it.
2 I do pray, and it's usually just asking God for his continual guidance for each day and being thankful for his blessings , etc etc.
Enjoy your weekend.
Hi Self Sagacity. Yes, hiking and gardening are wonderful ways to clear the mind of all the clutter and relax into messages from our subconscious. Sometimes reasoning gets us all tangled up and just brings in more questions and worry. A glass of wine and sleep sometimes do the job just fine.
Hi Janete. That's what this blog is heading toward more and more as I write my posts--awakening and stepping into the beyond. Hope you find much inspiration on your journey.
Hi Jamerican Spice. From all I've read and heard over the years of research for my novels, prayer for guidance and in thanksgiving are important parts of our journey into the hidden dimensions of life, along with living and learning and applying what we've learned. We're all in this together and together, we can discover, uncover, reveal, and become.
1) I depend on prayer much more than I realize, and I listen and look for messages or signs.
2) Prayer is what guide me to find what I need..
Hi DoanLegacy. Prayer is one of the strongest tools I know to connect to the Mystery of the Unknown and ask for guidance Prayer has amazing power, if only we remember to use it.
