Thursday Two Questions/Stylish Blogger Award

Welcome to Thursday Two Questions #16.

On Tuesday I wrote a post about The Stylish Blogger Award that Cathy Kennedy presented to my blog.

I was honored.  It made my day.

As I said in my comment on Cathy Kennedy's Blog, "Bloggers so need an accolade such as this once in a while to encourage them to keep on keeping on. Your willingness to pass this gift on to others is not only a kindness but an inspiration."

My Thurday Two Questions to you are:
  1. Has your blog ever been presented with an award (This was my first)?
  2. Have you ever heard of the Stylish Blogger Award or maybe know where it originated?
If you'd like to further participte in Thursday Two Questions, follow the link below.

Thanks for stopping by.

I love these types of awards and recognitions from fellow bloggers! It's so fun to get a pat on the back from someone else in the blogging world and I can see why your blog was chosen as stylish since it certainly is!

I haven't seen this award before but I've wondered where a lot of these badges originate. They sure are fun!

Congrats!

Margaret, my blog hasn't been going long enough to get an award for anything, and I still have a fairly low follower count (Though it is building up).

I've never heard of Thursday Two Questions, but I'm off to check it out!

Hi Lisa. Thanks for the compliment. I love these awards, too, and am happy that I received one. It also felt good passing the award on, though it may take awhile for the recipients to catch on.

Hi Rebecca. Thursday Two Questions is a great way to introduce yourself to fellow bloggers. It takes some work, but I've found it well worth it. I've made some great blogger friends.

Hi Margaret I'm back! You sure deserve that award.

I received several awards but I prefer an ad-free site and so do most my friends. I think those badges were made by bloggers and had fun passing it on from one to the others much like a blog-hop!

congratulations on the award!

i received a few awards from fellow bloggers. i haven't heard of the Stylish Blogger Award.

Congrats on the award. I have won a few awards and while I love receiving them it takes me awhile to award them out as my time is so limited. I have noticed that some of those I awarded never responded and the award does generate traffic for both recipients, so they are beneficial. They also help us get to know one another. :-)

I wondered where they generated from also.

1) Yes, I've received quite a few awards for my blog, but over the years they've wound down since they take time and effort to give them out.

2) Have not heard of the Stylish blogger award before!

Thank you, Lui. Wherever this award came from, I like the idea of bloggers supporting one another. As we're doing now with Thursday Two Questions.

Hi Luna. As I told Lui, the original source of the award is less important than the thought and message behind it--bloggers supporting bloggers.

Hi Judy. I'm glad you've won your shae of blogger awards. Yes, they do generate traffic for both the receiver and giver. They're also fun and positive and a great way to make new friends.

Hi Icy-BC. Since I'm still new to blogging, blogger awards are new and thrilling for me. They do take time to give out. Guess that's part of what made me feel so good on receiving one, the time it took the giver (Cathy Kennedy)to think about and then write about my blog in such a touching way.

Hi Margaret, I received a few awards for Self Sagacity. I recently received two Stylish Awards from two different bloggers and a few other ones that I was going to do them in one post. It time consuming to post the respond and give out the awards, so that is why I haven't been able to give them any attention.
As Lui said, these awards are made up by bloggers, who decided they wanted to thank or recognize other bloggers. In a way, it is a marketing tool - linking vehicle. :-)
Thanks for joining TTQ.

Margaret, congrats! You certainly deserve the award and more. I have in the past received awards and it is always such a wonderful feeling to be acknowledged by fellow bloggers.

I've not however, heard of the stylish blogger award.

Hi Self Sagacity. Two Stylish Awards! Congratulations. Marketing tool. Linking vehicle. Award by fellow blogger. Makes no difference. I'm grateful for the recognition.

Hello Poetic Shutterbug. I agree receiving an award from a fellow blogger is a wonderful feeling. But the mystery of the Stylish Award's origin continues.

Congrats on your award Margaret!
I have received quite a few in the almost two years I have been blogging, they are fun and for new bloggers a great way to meet new friends. Unfortunately they are very time consuming after awhile. These days I post them on my sidebar with a link back to the blogger.

I have seen the Stylish award on a couple of blogs but I don't know who originated it. Awards are created by fellow bloggers and spread quickly around the blog universe. I did one last year and gave it to all my followers, it's on my sidebar if you scroll down. It's called Flowers of Friendship.

Hi Margaret,
I don't have a blog, but I do agree that 'good works' need to be recognized, becasue it just makes the author work harder to produce good material, whether in the media of blogging, article writing, non-fiction, news reporting, novel writing or any of the other 'creative arts'. Congratulations.

No, I don't now where "The Stylish Blogger Award" originated, but I would guess it came from Cathy Kennedy, the 'presenter of the award' - just a guess.

I enjoy your Thursday's questions, as they always make me think. bernadine

Thanks SquirrelQueen. I didn't mind the time-consuming part. The award gave me something to blog about (sometimes I run out of ideas), and it's been fun. I guess if you receive a lot of them (I should be that lucky)as you have, it could add up to a lot more work than you have time for. I'll check out your Flowers of Friendship award on your sidebar next time I visit.

Hi Bernadine. I so agree that writers/artists of all genres/creative arts need a pat on the back once in a while. We love what we do, but sometimes we wonder if it's worth the cost. I'm glad you enjoy Thursday Two Questions. I've met a lot of great people this way.

We have received many awards for Blessing Reflections too, and it's quite an honor, but like everyone has mentioned, it's also time consuming.

You have a stylish blog :-) so the award is quite fitting. Congrats!

Congratulations on your award. I've not heard of it before.

Enjoy your weekend.

Margaret Duarte said...

Hi Jammerican Spice. Thank you for stopping by. I'll be returning the favor. Hope your weekend is great, too.

I missed your 'Two Questions' this week? Is that segment suspended? Thanks. bernadine

Hi Bernadine. I decided, for sanity's sake, to spend less time on my blog, and the logical choice was to stop participating in Thursday Two Questions. Although it brought a lot of traffic, it also took much valuable time, and I wasn't saying anything new (that I hadn't already written about in previous posts). Thanks for asking, though. I so appreciate your comments.
