Thursday Two Questions

THISI don't normally blog on Thursdays and don't plan on making it a habit.  For one thing, I don't have the time to write more than three posts a week, and for another, I'm not sure my followers have time to read them either.

However...

I came across this clever idea hosted by Blessed Reflections

It's sort of a Thursday Two Questions challenge.

Post two questions on your blog and link it back to Thursday Two Questions.  Then visit other participants and try to answer their questions.

Here are mine:
  1. What do you prefer in a blog, information, or something personal relating to the blog's author?
  2. How many blogs do you "follow" and why?
That's it.  Answer my two questions if you like, or just leave a comment.

Happy Thursday.

Hello Margaret - Good questions :) To answer your questions (sort of) I like a variety of blogs. Some fiction, some journals, and some silly stories of daily life. My blog is intended to be humorous and based on daily experience. I also promote the blogging community with regular recommendations and guest posts. The answer to #2 is...well I have dozens of blogs on my follow list, and try to get to them all, but there are probably on 10 that I follow frequently (even daily). I enjoy blogs by writers (or aspiring writers). I am a technical writer by day, and a creative writer by hobby.

I will be back to keep up with your posts.

Be well,
Ron

Hi Ron. Thanks for sharing. I like the idea about adding journals and stories of daily life into your blog, though I haven't yet tried either. Your support of the blogging community is commendable. I try to do the same. Blogging is hard work and needs to be rewarded, at least once in a while. I do try to get to the blogs I follow, a few at a time. A challenge for sure!

1) Ideally a little of both.
2) After two years of blogging daily, I've grown a lot of fans, many of which happen to be fellow bloggers. There is reciprocal back and forth with commenting but time limits me to commenting on about six every day except on Wordless Wednesday. I follow dozens of blogs, many from blog catalog.

Hi Layla. Two years of daily blogging? Wow. I thought three times a week was a lot. I like the reciprocal back and forth between bloggers. That makes sense. We are interested in one another because we share a common experience. But even on a good day, I can't manage more than eight or so visits to other blogs and leave a well thought-out comment. I've never heard of blog catalog. Something to look into. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi margaret, for me blogging is for pleasure and the love for poetries.I am a new entry to the blogging trend learning new things everyday.
I have learned one important trick in blogging...reciprocating for follow and comments is considered the best way to keep our blogs stay alive...what do you say?

Margaret Duarte said...

Oh I so agree with you, Umamaheswari. Reciprocating with comments (for comments) is critical in keeping bloggers motivated--and inspired--and keeping their blogs alive. Thanks so much for your comment.

I love to read the serious blogs too, but have not enough time. So my favorites are personal blogs and tech blogs - I love learning new things to enhance my blog.
I follow many blogs, in hopes that they will follow me back. I guess that is the truth. It isn't often I find mutual connections. And I believe that is why it's like searching for the right person, got to go through a few.

Thanks so much for participating, good to have you on board.

Hi Amanda. I have 80 followers as of today and aboug 20 of them are regular visitors to my blog. I'm satisfied with this because I know how time-consuming it is to visit other people's blogs and still find time to keep up my own on top of my novel writing. I think we should comment on other's blogs when we come across a post that moves us in some way so that our comment is valuable to the blogger. I'm still not sure I'm doing the Thursday Two Questions right yet, but I'll get the hang of it.
